Fracture Care
Fractures occur after trauma to a bone or joint and can present in several variations. Treatment for fractures can be surgical and non-surgical. Generally, if surgery is needed, hardware is used to reduce and stabilize the fracture so it can heal.
These surgeries can be done in both and the inpatient and outpatient setting depending on acuity and severity. Length of the surgery depends on the complexity of the fracture, and post-operative recovery plan depends on the body part affected and the procedure performed.
Physical therapy is needed after any fracture treatment to regain motion, function and strength to the affected area.
