Bracing Instructions
For Shoulder Arthroscopies:
Keep your arm in the sling at all times except instructed explicitly otherwise by the medical providers. You may remove the sling to shower, change clothes, and do the exercises that are provided to you as part of the pre-operative package. If you have any questions regarding bracing or any other medical equipment, you may contact our DME coordinator Judy @ (310) 855-0751 ext. 2606.
For ACL Reconstructions:
Your knee brace will be applied immediately after your surgery. The settings on your brace should be locked in the straight position until you are able to do a straight leg raise. After, you may pull up on the buttons on the side of the brace in which it will allow you to bend your knee. You are able to remove the brace to shower, change, etc. Be sure to lock the brace with the buttons before removing it to make it easier to reapply. If you have any questions regarding bracing or any other medical equipment, you may contact our DME coordinator Judy @ (310) 855-0751 ext. 2606.
For Meniscus Repairs:
Your knee brace will be applied immediately after your surgery. The brace must be worn for the following 4 weeks, or unless instructed otherwise by the physician. The brace will be locked in extension for the approximate time. You are to be non-weight bearing during this period. If you have any questions regarding bracing or any other medical equipment, you may contact our DME coordinator Judy @ (310) 855-0751 ext. 2606.
