Bracing

How to wear your sling or knee brace after surgery.

01

Shoulder arthroscopy

Keep your arm in the sling at all times unless explicitly instructed otherwise by your medical providers. You may remove the sling to shower, change clothes, and perform the exercises provided in your pre-operative package.

02

ACL reconstruction

Your knee brace is applied immediately after surgery. Keep it locked in the straight position until you can perform a straight-leg raise; then pull up the buttons on the side of the brace to allow the knee to bend. You may remove the brace to shower and change — lock it with the buttons before removing it to make reapplying easier.

03

Meniscus repair

Your knee brace is applied immediately after surgery and must be worn for four weeks after surgery, unless instructed otherwise by your physician. The brace is locked in extension during this time, and you are to be non-weight-bearing.
